The Government of Myanmar, in full cooperation with the other Theravada Buddhist countries, organised the Sixth World Buddhist Council Conference on a grand scale. It commenced in Yangon on the full moon day of Kasoon 1316. The chosen venue was the Mahapasana Cave at the Thirimingalar World Peace Pagoda. The Buddhist Sasana Council issued the invitations on behalf of the Government. The Most Venerable Saradawgree U Chandramani represented India at the Conference and delivered a speech in Hindi.

After participating at the Conference for more than a month and completing all the necessary tasks, Saradawgree left for Akyab at the invitation of his devotees. He also spent more than a month in Akyab giving Dhamma talks. He then went back to Yangon to meet his many devotees, before he finally returned to Kushinagar in UP, India.
