Second Visit To Nepal

A World Buddhist Conference was organized in Kathmandu, Nepal. The main organizer was the King of Nepal himself. Having received an invitation from Dr. Ambedkar and the King, Saradawgree U Chandramani left Kushinagar for Kathmandu, Nepal for a second time; this time he travelled by train. Several thousand members of the Dhamawdayasaba Association and other Therawada Buddhists met Saradawgree at the station. On the Opening Day, King Mahindra of Nepal himself declared the 'World Buddhist Conference' open in the presence of the representatives of many Buddhist countries from all over the world.

The King then requested Saradawgree Ashin U Chandramani to kindly bless them all with the five precepts. There were over one hundred thousand participants present. Saradawpharagree blessed them all by the powers of Triple Gems and asked them to observe the five Buddhist precepts. Saradawpharagree then took the initiative to speak in Hindi. He spoke clearly and precisely so that even school children would be able to understand him; he explained in great detail all there was to know about Therawada Buddhism.

There were many religious subjects discussed at the Conference and many decisions were taken. When the Conference was over, Saradawpharagree stayed on in Nepal before returning to Kushinagar. Not long after that international conference was over, Dr. Ambedkar passed away.
