An all-India Buddhist Conference took place in the year 1954 in Nagpur City. As an invitation was received well in advance, Saradawgree U Chandramani was able to attend the Conference in person. The Conference discussed important Buddhist matters and made many decisions; amongst which was a decision to set up an association in Bombay called "Baratiya Buddha Mahasaba Association" which became a very large organization in the country with the largest membership of Buddhists.
About five hundred thousand Buddhists, including Dr. Ambedkar, lived in Nagpur and its districts. In 1957, an Indian Buddhist Bhikkhu, Ashin Ratthapala, on behalf of the Baratiya Buddha Mahasaba Association (BBMA), invited Saradawgree to visit Nagpur. The request was for Mahaguru Saradawgree Chandramani to convert fifty thousand people in Ujarly in Samkasya district to Buddhism. Saradawgree went to Nagpur for a second time on 14 April when he conducted a conversion ceremony in a large marquee. There he blessed all fifty thousand with the powers of Triple Gems, Buddha Dhamma and Sangha, and all were asked to observe the five Buddhist precepts. Saradawgree then proceeded with a Dhamma sermon in Hindi so that everyone understood the true meaning of his talk.
After the conversion ceremony in Nagpur, Saradawgree was then invited by the Buddhist Association in Agra city where he converted another five thousand people to Buddhism with the blessing of the Triple Gems and the observance of the Buddhist precepts, and delivered a Dhamma desana. Then he returned to Kushinagar.
