Paya Lanma (Lords Highway) over the Yoma (Yakhine Range)Than Tun (Mandalay University)

From the monastery of Thakhoottane in Monywa area, we got a black paper manuscript entitled Sakkaraj 1146 mha 1148 atwan: Kusuiltoau (Royal Deeds of Merit during 1724-1726). It enlists the various stages when the Great Image Mahanmni was brought from Kyauktaw to its present site. The record begins with a royal Edict to go west and bring back the Great Image.
The Crown Prince together with Prince Zagu and Prince Kama are to march in full force of elephants and horses against Dhannavati the City of Yakhine, and having captured the City, they are to bring the Mahamuni here.
In fact the Edict amounts to ordering a military campaign against the king of Yakhine. Without defeating that monarch the removal of the Great Image was impossible. With the Crown Prince as the Commander-in-Chief, four routes were marked for the campaign:
1. U Yin Pu Route from Ba Daung,
2. Lin Ba Day Route from Myan Aung,
3. Min Don Route from Kama and
4. Maw Din Ga Yit (Sea) Route from Pathein.
The Commander-in-Chief went by the first route. The chronology of the campaign is:
